Conclusion |
Visiting the Museum of Science before the memorial service
Everyone attending the memorial will be able to visit the Museum of Science for
free
on Sunday (with free parking included). To do this, you will need to get a
pass from one of us beforehand (either when you arrive, or we can mail one to you).
Contact Seth (
sethmobile@hotmail.com).
for the details. For example, the parking is actually
validated, so you will
have to go through a few simple steps to avoid paying for your parking.
A note from the Museum of Science (1 Oct)
... Guests will be directed to the suite by way of a function coordinator and
signage provided in the lobby. Parking validation will be available in the Suite, as well.
Mingle notes
This memorial will have an informal flavor (I, Daniel, have no intention of
wearing a suit or a tie!).
Mingle notes
By the way, we have the room until 8:30, so those who want to linger a bit longer may do so.
Summary of the Earl Hellerstein memorial
The Earl Hellerstein Memorial service will be at the Museum of Science from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM, on Sunday Oct 11 (the day before Columbus day).
It will be a relatively informal service (comfortable clothes) which will primarily consist of personal testimonials.
We expect the service to start around 5:00 PM and conclude around 6:15.
From 6:15 to about 7:30 food will be served (salad and a pasta bar).
And we are told that the sunset from the function room is quite pretty (the room overlooks the Charles River)!
For those interested, there will also be an informal 8:30 PM reception later that evening, at Earl's
house in Newton.
On the night before (Saturday), all are invited to join us as we
sit Shiva from 7:00 P.M to 11:00 P.M. at the Newton house
(1489 Commonwealth Ave).
For planning purposes, we request that those interested in attending
the service should let me (Daniel Hellerstein,
danielh@crosslink.net) know.
Reception at 1489
The reception at 1489 Commonwealth Ave will commence at 8:30. Our food offerings will be quite limited, so don't arrive
hungry.
We also are offering books books and more books. Any book you find at 1489 that you want to take home with you...
please do! We don't have much room in our own homes, and its so difficult to just
dispose of them.
Charitable contributions
We request that instead of giving us gifts, flowers, etc ... that you send a
contribution to one (or more!) of these three organizations:
Save Darfur |
You can donate using the special web page at:
Or you can mail them at:

If you use this mail option, be sure to include a note mentioning
that the contribution is in memory of Earl Hellerstein.
